Sound Samples

Most of these samples were produced with commercially available backing tracks. Others (A Hillside In Scotland, Mairi's Wedding, 500 Miles, California Dreaming, For The Good Times, Yesterday, Do You Want To Know A Secret), were self-produced, using "Band-In-A-Box" music-creation software. On two tracks (Today, Leaves That Are Green), I accompany myself on acoustic guitar.

The power of music

Music can have extraordinary effects on our memories. Sometimes when hear a song or a piece of music and immediately we are transported to where we first heard it.
At the conclusion of one of my concerts at an aged care facilty, a lady, who had been visiting her husband, approached. She told me that he had not spoken for almost two years but, during one particular song, he turned to her and said, "I know that song!" Until then she believed that she would never hear his voice again. She was so very grateful.
